Con dos anuncios, en un periódico de la ciudad y con los auspicios de la publicación Motor Age Magazine, fue posible la celebración del Primer Salón del Automóvil Oficial de Chicago. El evento abrió sus puertas desde el 23 al 30 de marzo 1901 dentro de la sala de exposiciones del Colisum, situado en la calle 15th y 16th Wabash Ave. Los precios en la sala de exposiciones fueron de $1.00 a $1.50 por pie cuadrado.
